Oodgeroo Noonuccal Undergraduate Scholarship
Program
The aim of the scholarship program is to promote the pursuit of Indigenous
rights and justice through supporting the education of Indigenous people.
The value of the scholarship is $5000 for the following purposes:
- purchase of a computer
- travel expenses
- textbooks
- other costs associated with completing your degree.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be:
* an Indigenous Australian
* accepted into a course of study either in literature, education, history,
cultural studies, law, justice or race relations in 2008.

The Charlie Bell Scholarship for Future Leaders was created to recognise the late Charlie Bell's commitment to individual development and will reward up to three individuals up to $15 000 each towards their tuition fees for the 2009 academic year.

Rural Allied Health Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme
The Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship Scheme (AHCPSS) is an Australian Government initiative to support allied health and oral health students to undertake a clinical placement in a rural or remote Australian community during their degree. Applications are open to eligible students from across Australia from metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas.
The AHCPS Scheme is open to individuals studying an allied health or oral health degree at an undergraduate level OR postgraduate level in:

Oral Health
Scholarship funding will be for a maximum of six weeks whilst the scholar is on their clinical placement. The scholarship will assist scholars undertaking a clinical placement from 1 July 2009 to 30 June 2010.
Successful students will receive financial assistance towards travel, accommodation and living expenses, but the scholarship may not necessarily cover all costs incurred.
Eligible scholars will be enrolled fulltime in an eligible allied health or oral health discipline as described above and be an Australian citizen or hold Australian Permanent Residency status. Emphasis will be placed on students in their 3rd or 4th year of study (if studying at undergraduate level) and postgraduate students.

Dean's Scholars Program
The Dean's Scholars Program offers OP 1 students a scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Engineering while accessing leadership development and focused industry networking opportunities. Tuition fees will be covered for Commonwealth supported domestic students or approximately one-third of international student tuition fees. High performing Dean's Scholars can continue funded study to masters level within the Faculty. Engineering Technology bonus ranks may be used in the calculation of eligibility.

Corporate Partners in Excellence
The Corporate Partners in Excellence (CPIE) program offers high-achieving
school leavers an accelerated program of study and up to two semesters
work experience with one or more of the participating organisations within
three years.
The program is open to students wishing to undertake any major in Business.
The scholarship is worth $28,500 with students receiving $9,500 a year
for the three-year duration of their degree to cover fees and other educational espenses.

Dean's Honours Program (BS06)
The Faculty of Business Dean's Honours Program offers OP 1 or 2 students
an accelerated study program, allowing graduation with a Bachelor of Business
and Honours degree in the three years it normally takes to achieve the
Bachelor of Business.
The Dean’s Honours domestic students will be awarded a scholarship valued at $20,000 over the three years of the program. The international student scholarship is valued at $30,000 (paid as a fee waiver spread over the three years). Conditions apply.
There is no application process for this scholarship. Students will be contacted upon admission to the BS06 Bachelor of Business (Dean's Honours Program).

Business Academic Excellence
Academic Excellence Scholarships of $5000 are available to all OP 1-2 domestic students who enrol in either the BS05 Bachelor of Business, BS07 Bachelor of Business (Accelerated) courses or one of the double degrees offered with the Bachelor of Business component.
These scholarships are only available to those students who do not hold any other academic scholarship at QUT. As OP 1-2 students you may be eligible for one of the more prestigious Univesity scholarships and we encourage you to seek information about these more financially beneficial programs.

Creative Industries

I work part-time as a rock climbing instructor and I also do busking.
This helps to pay for my living expenses and my scholarship money
pays for my course at university. I will be working as a volunteer
at 4EBFM radio station throughout my course to gain further technical
skills and to improve my network of contacts in the industry.

Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarships
The Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarships (previously the Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander Teaching Scholarships) were developed by the Department
of Education, Training and the Arts to assist aspiring teachers of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander descent to complete their degrees and make
a difference in education.
Valued at up to $20,000 each over four years, up to 15 scholarships are
awarded to applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
to assist them in gaining degrees in education at Queensland universities.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Scholarships
Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship SchemeThe Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship Scheme is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants* and is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, and administered by Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA).
Scholarships will be available for the start of the 2009 academic year and are worth up to $7,500 per year for part time study and up $15,000 per year for full time study.
Scholarships will be available for students who wish to study in 2009 at the undergraduate level in the areas of:
- Aboriginal Health Worker
- Allied Health (excluding pharmacy)
- Dentistry/Oral Health
- Health Service Management
- Health Promotion/Education
- Medicine
- Mental Health
- Midwifery
- Nursing
Selection will be based on criteria including demonstrated interest and experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, leadership qualities and financial need. This selection is not based on academic achievement.
*Applicants must identify as and be able to prove their Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status. To prove your status as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, you must obtain a written Confirmation of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Decent document from an Indigenous Australian organisation within the community in which you live or have previously lived.
The Confirmation of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Descent document must include the signatures of two office holders.

School of Psychology & Counselling Undergraduate Scholarship for
Indigenous Students
This scholarship is awarded to an Indigenous student commencing the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) course and is valued at half the student’s fees for the duration of their course.
In addition a one-off payment of $500 is available to assist with study costs.

created the QUT Law Founders Scholarship.

Dean’s Scholars Program
This program offers an accelerated pathway in all the Faculty’s undergraduate single degrees for OP 1 or 2 students. Students can complete both an undergraduate and honours degree in three years, instead of four.
During the program, students will be given the opportunity to build industry
contacts through special award events and undergraduate excellence events.
While enrolled in the Dean’s Scholars Program, domestic students
will have all undergraduate and Honours tuition fees paid by the Faculty.
International students enrolled in the Dean’s Scholars Program will
have a third of their tuition fees paid by the Faculty for the undergraduate
and Honours program.
Students with an OP 1 or 2 are encouraged to apply.

Indigenous Undergraduate Financial Support
From 2006, all Indigenous students studying the Bachelor of Information Technology will receive financial support in the form of textbook vouchers in Semesters 1 and 2. This initiative is designed to encourage and support Indigenous students whilst they undertake their undergraduate studies.

Dean's Scholars Accelerated Honours Program
The Dean's Scholars Accelerated Honours Program enables students with
outstanding achievement at secondary school to complete both the Bachelor

Trevor Lewis Memorial Bursary
The bursary is awarded each year to a student entering the Physics Honours
course or the Coursework Masters in Medical Physics in that year. The
value of the bursary is $1,000. Applicants will be judged on their academic
record prior to entry into the course. Applicants must be enrolled in
the required course in order to receive the bursary.
The Trevor Lewis Memorial Bursary will be on offer in 2010. Applications
open in February 2010.

Mathematics Bursary
The Mathematics Bursary Program was established to foster studies in
mathematics and statistics. A number of bursaries are provided by employers
to assist full-time students in the Bachelor of Mathematics or the Mathematics
double degrees with Business, Information Technology, Science or Engineering.
Each bursary is valued at $3000, payable in installments over the length
of the course.
